Designing with Tradition

Being Australian and a first-generation Italian, I deeply understand the significance of tradition at home. The Italian culture, rich in emotional well-being, has profoundly influenced my life. Italian tradition emphasizes family, community, and the open expression of emotions. This focus on togetherness and social interaction creates a robust support system that enhances psychological well-being.

Family gatherings and the daily rituals of cooking and sharing food exemplify the deep-rooted importance of these traditions. Embracing these practices connects us to our heritage and nurtures our emotional health.

Designing with tradition is a style that merges historical and cultural elements into contemporary design. This timeless approach is elegant and reassuring, often featuring rich colors, ornate details, and luxurious fabrics.

Traditional design is synonymous with elegance and a strong connection to history. It draws inspiration from eras such as the European Renaissance, Victorian style, and colonial architecture. This style is easily recognizable due to its carved wooden furniture, elaborate shapes, and a rich color palette that includes red, dark green, gold, and blue. Key features of traditional design include elaborate moldings and luxurious fabrics such as velvet and silk. Ornate details are crucial, with decorative elements like china cabinets, porcelain, silverware, busts, tapestries, paintings, books, lamps, mirrors, floral arrangements, and chandeliers playing a significant role. The lighting typically has a warm, diffused quality.
